GREG BOWLES

UCC Preaching/Campus Minister

Greg’s vision for AFC is twofold:

1. That every person that comes into contact with AFC would see the centrality of the gospel in all things, that we would live, eat, and breathe the gospel every day.

2. That we would NOT measure growth by “members”, rather by individuals that are being missional in their daily lives.

“In the day to day business of the church, it is tempting for ministers to forget that they are not building their kingdom, but God's kingdom. I want to remember that my job is to lift up His name. The Word promises that ‘… the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.’ Habakkuk 2:14. I want to be part of what God is doing. My ambition is to impact the world for Him and His kingdom. That begins in part with Las Cruces, but that is only the beginning…”

Greg and his wife Tiffany both grew up in a small town south of Fort Worth, Texas. They were high school sweet hearts and got married in May of 2003. They both attended Texas Tech and have a mild obsession with all things from Texas. They moved to Las Cruces in 2004 to lead Aggies For Christ. In Nov 2008 the elders asked Greg to take over the main preaching and teaching duties at UCC. Greg preaches most Sunday mornings, helps with vision and direction for UCC and overseas the events and vision for Aggies for Christ.

Greg and Tiffany have two daughters, Brynlee and Bailee. They have added more joy in their lives than they ever thought possible.

TYLER SMITH

UCC Worship Minister

Tyler came to Las Cruces from Lubbock, Texas, in August of 2008 to work as an intern and worship leader for AFC. Over time, the ministry grew, and the church decided to adopt an instrumental service into its Sunday worship schedule. Tyler still works with and leads worship for AFC, and also leads UCC’s instrumental service and oversees and coordinates the other worship services, events, and media for the church.

Craig served as a student leader for several years in the AFC ministry. In the spring of 2012, he became the director of AFC through UCC’s “Paideia” program, which places students into leadership roles for training in ministry. Craig is from Artesia and is married to Hannah.

Aggies for Christ equips and connects students with other college students through activities and worship. Our goal is to bring divine love and light to NMSU. We are FOR the campus - not separate from or against it. We focus on loving, giving, and serving on our campus and in our community. This spiritual component to your education brings earthly joy and eternal rewards. There’s something for everyone at AFC - going on weekend retreats, having small group bible studies, playing in various intramural sports, and just hanging out are a few of the fun things we do each year. We encourage you to find ways to get involved and share your gifts!
